Celebrity Wedding: Speidi

Ok, so I've only seen a few episodes of "The Hills" and have only really seen Spencer & Heidi in magazines and on the recent reality show, "I'm a Celebrity Get Met Out Of Here". But, my husband is a huge closet fan. He pauses the show just so he can watch it in his own space, it's his thing. I'm the same way with "The Girls Next Door" and now "Kendra".

The ceremony was at the beautiful Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, CA. It's gorgeous.

So, I had to share these amazing photos that Feather Love Photography took at Speidi's cocktail reception at Social Hollywood. These photos were at the request of their wedding planner, Michelle Buckley of Mint Julep. I just thought these pics were fabulous. The flowers were done by Eggs, Los Angeles and the cake is from Sweet Gems. And the DJ of this fabulous event was The Flash Dance DJ.

Hot Colors this Season: as you see here YELLOW is fabulous, other Hot Pics are Purple, in any shade, and Navy Blue. Love it!!!

Inspiration: Navy Blue is the New Black

More and more I see "navy blue" being used in place of black which, in my opinion, creates a softer more romantic look as well as being chic and stylish and classic. I've seen it offset with pink, orange, yellow, green, and white. If you're looking for a way to have your wedding colors stand out and still be classic and elegant, this is the way to go.

This is a photo of one of my beautiful brides, Rachael, who got married in Ojai and had the color scheme of white, green, and navy blue. The maids look just stunning in their navy blue gowns. This photo was taken by the talented Heather Jagger of Jagger Photography.

I was first introduced to JL Designs at a wedding last August at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch and the flowers were STUNNING. This "baroque" design as seen in Bride and Bloom Magazine was done by the ever talented Carissa, owner of JL Designs and again uses the navy blue which compliments the warm colors of the peach and gold with the stark white and I think looks just fabulous.

Here's a photo from the wedding that I met Carissa of JL Designs last year. I love my bride, Nicole, owner of Nicolita Swimwear who is extremely talented and not to mention gorgeous and who designed her own dress and those of her bridesmaids who are in navy blue and the fuscia boquets just pop for that WOW factor. And you may recognized the second maid on the left who is the bride you saw in the photo earlier in this post. Referrals are fantastic!!! This photo was taken by my FAVORITE PHOTOGRAPHER who is sweet, and beautiful, and funny, and extremely talented, the lovely Jasmine Star.

Real Wedding: Liz & Kevin

As a wedding planner we often work with other planners and do leads for other companies. This wedding at Rancho Sol Del Pacifico in Malibu was a lead I did for Occasions. The bride & groom, both from USC, got ready at the Four Seasons in Westlake before heading to their ocean view location.
Ja Tecson took these amazing photos and the flowers were done by a friend.

The ceremony took place on the pool deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Gorgeous.

Celebrity Wedding: Kendra & Hank

I will admit that I have a closet addiction to the Girls Next Door and now the new spin-off Kendra. And what I love even more is that Kendra's show is mostly about her wedding which took place last weekend at her once home, the Playboy Mansion.

I am so excited to pick up the new copy of US Weekly which has a 6 page spread (which can be seen on Kendra's Blog) of the wedding with photos and the only official interview of any other magazine. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Baskett!!!

Inspiration: Aqua Blue

I absolutely love this color...Aqua Blue. I used it as one of the main colors in my own wedding a few years ago. If I could redo the color scheme of my weddings which was (Aqua Blue, Orange, Green & White). I would either do Aqua Blue & Red or Aqua Blue & Pink. I just can't get enough of this color.
