Featured: Bridal Guide Magazine

It's official...this is the shoot that keeps on giving. 2 years ago Lina of A Stunning Affair and I teamed up to recreate a Twilight Wedding and tried our best to follow along to the book, and this was way before the movie came out. Well, it's been featured not only on the Bridal Guide website, but we even got a little "sneak peek" of it in the most recent Bridal Guide magazine. YAY!!!

So far it's been featured on Style Me Pretty, Hostess With The Mostess (Part 1) (Part 2), in Woman's World Magazine, on countless Twi-Hard Blogs, and now Bridal Guide Magazine. Gotta love all the shout outs.

Inspiration: A Wonderlandia Wedding

I have been on hiatus for a bit from blogging. My husband and I recently moved to Oceanside for his new job and things have been a little crazy. But, without further adieu, here are the images from the Wonderlandia tablescape I did for Hostess With The Mostess' launch party that took place last month in San Diego.

 I couldn't have done this tablescape without the amazing team of vendors including my favorite florist in the world, Peony & Plum, as well as Blue Magpie Invitations and La Tavola Fine Linens.

Featured: HWTM Wonderlandia

Jenn of HWTM asked me to design the wedding tablescape for her launch party and I couldn't say no (see sneak peak above). Here's a little taste of the other 5 tablescapes at the launch party for Hostess With The Mostess. You can see more on her blog.

 I was so excited when I heard that Jesi Haack would be there since I'm a huge fan of her work. She was given the baby shower tablescape and I love the trend of sharing whether the baby is a boy or girl by having the inside of the cake reveal the color (blue or pink). Adorable. And it's always great to see, Carissa, of JL Designs who did the florals for Jesi's table.

 There was also a kids birthday.

 and it was great to see Carolyn after a while who was asked to do the adult birthday party tablescape.

This event was a ton of fun to be a part of. Thanks again, Jenn, for letting me be a part of it.

Sneak Peak: Inspiration Wonderlandia

 I previously posted that I was invited to design a wedding tablescape for the Hostess With The Mostess Launch Party that was on Friday Night in San Diego at the Hotel Solomar on the rooftop.

 The only perameters were that it had to be int the theme of Wonderlandia and had to use shade of the colors red, orange, and green with accents of yellow, black or white.

 So I decided to go very bright & cheery with the color scheme using magenta pink, bright orange, bright yellow, and bright green against all white containers including tea pots, tea cups & saucers, and water pitchers.

 La Tavola sponsored the event by letting us use their linens to I chose the Tuscany Limestone for a neutral palette to allow the bright colors to really pop off the table. And I used the Tuscany Crush color for the napkins and chair pads to add a little bit of pop.

 Peony & Plum, my go to florist, took my ideas and inspiration board and once again exceeded my expectations and gave me a lot to work with. And Blue Magpie Invitations made all the paper goodies including the invitation, menu cards, drink me signs & table name.

 We used orange & magenta dahlias, yellow billy balls, green mini hydrangea, magenta garden roses, yellow parrot tulips, orange ranunculus, and green trick carnations (the round balls of what looks like grass).

We also had to use the "Drink Me" from Alice in Wonderland and I went very summery with it giving each table setting an Izze in a color that matched the linen napkin perfectly. I can't wait to show you the images the photographer took, these ones are from my iPhone. : )

I was excited when our tablescape was featured on Style Me Pretty, but to also have it featured on Hostess with the Mostess, was more than I anticipated. It was a wonderful surprise.

Celebrity Birthday: Barbie Turns 50

So I was looking at one of my favorite blogs, Hostess with the Mostess, and came across a post about a fabulous 50th birthday party. Now this isn't just any party, this is for the one and only, BARBIE. 50 years is a big accomplishment, so they had to go big or go home. They went big. The got Colin Cowie, event planner to the stars, and famed interior designer Jonathan Adler to team up to create a real life size version of Barbie's Malibu Beach House for a true Malibu Barbie. How Fun.

So of course there has to be PINK EVERYWHERE. Even the car was Barbiefied.

The bedroom, WOW...Pink, Pink, Pink...

...all the way down to the 50 pairs of PINK peep-toe heals in Barbie's closet...

And here's the living room, with a focal point of a fantastic round sofa framing a custom Barbie Rug.

Here's a little fun fact...the black damask antique style frames are from...IKEA.

Now that's what I call a mirror...

And here is the sitting room, with Barbie's own custom fabric of course.

And, you may be wondering what that chandelier in the center of the room is covered with...that would be Barbie wigs...now that's what I call original art work.
