Accessory Wednesday: DIY Shoe Bling

Don't forget about the shoes. You may have seen lately that the trend is to have fabulous and colorful shoes to peak out from under your fabulous white gown. But to take it one step further, you can bling them out yourself.

When Jasmine Star ( a photographer worth blog stalking and knowing) said that her bride Alicia customized a pair of Manolo Blahnik's people were so excited. What they may not have realized, which the bride and photographer, Alicia of The Modern Type Photography, found the fab shoes at a Neiman Marcus outlet and the bling was a brooch she wore at another wedding, and she borrowed one from the other girls to have 2 that matched.

How to Bling Your Shoes:
1. Buy Your Shoes, the more colorful and fabulous, the better
2. Buy 2 brooches that match, which could be your something borrowed, blue, old, or new
3. Wear them with pride!!!

Have fun blinging your shoes. Who doesn't love a little bling???

DIY: Centerpiece

If you're on a budget, you can make centerpieces for yourself. It's true. For a wedding though, I would still highly recommend getting your bouquets and personal flowers from a professional. But I know that if you have the time and desire and need to save a little green, you can create gorgeous centerpieces at home.

Here's a gorgeous example which uses gorgeous pink peonies offset by artichose, kale, and asparagus. Below you can see all the "ingredients" it takes to make this lovely centerpiece, which would even look fabulous at a bridal shower, a tea, or baby shower.

Click here to see the step by step tutorial on Epicurios of exactly how they put this masterpiece together.

And, here's the finished product!!!!!

Vendor Pick: Luke Skywalker Laser Engraving

I met Zenia, 1/2 of the Luke Skywalker Laser Engraving duo, at a fabulous vintage Halloween party on Tuesday. She and her husband create amazing laser engraved wooden and acrylic invitations, place cards, table numbers, etc. And they can engrave almost anything including toasting flutes, picture frames, and even an iPhone. They're prices are also extremely reasonable for what they offer and you don't have to meet a minimum order for these amazing works of art.

A Vintage Halloween

I went to a fabulous networking event last night at Franklin Canyon Park dressed as a gypsy with my good friend Lina, of A Stunning Affair, who was Marilyn Monroe for a night. The food was great and the desserts were WOW.

We met Calligraphy Katrina who did the programs and all the paper goods for the night and she is super sweet and her prices are unbeatable. If you need a fabulous calligrapher, Katrina is your gal.

These photos were taken by the lovely and super sweet Meg Perotti. She did an amazing job with really capturing the essence of this party.

And the decor...truly unique and vintage and fabulous as done by the always impressive Carissa of JL Designs.

These desserts were sooooo good. I had the pumpkin pop (lollipop with pumpkin cake and white chocolate coating) and it was so delicious. Plus, each peice of pastry heaven created by My Sweet and Saucy looked like a work of art.

Great vendors I partied with:

Accessory Wednesday: Bella Umbrella

I know that I'm not the first to find this amazing resource. Who says it needs to rain for you to sport a fabulous and even vintage umbrella??? Say hello to Bella...Bella Umbrella that is.

They create the most fabulous umbrellas I've seen for rent or for purchase. If you're looking for that little added touch, Bella is the place to go, and for umbrellas that start at just $10 to rent, it won't break the bank to look that much more fabulous on your big day!!!
