Trend: Cake Backdrops

It's no longer just the ceremony that gets it's own backdrop making it an obvious focal point in a wedding ceremony. Now it's the cake. These are some extraordinary backdrops and cake displays all by the lovely and talented Sweet & Saucy. Other vendors include JL Designs of course. I'm just going to let the photos speak for themselves.

Fabulous Find: J Crew Wedding Dresses

So many brides these days, including my own, have chosen J Crew as their bridesmaids dress designer.
And now the look, style, and fabrics they love can be theirs too, as their gorgeous wedding dress.
The silhouettes are so classic and elegant and timeless.
And, bonus, most of the dresses ranging from $99 (no joke) to $3,500. Not too shabby.

Real Engagement: Kristen & Dan

I can't wait for this wedding later this month.
Colors are berry pink, navy blue, with a pop of yellow.
Backyard wedding, BBQ catered, open bar, Sweet & Saucy dessert bar, and so much more.
And there are so many DIY elements and Peony & Plum is doing the fabulous floral design.
And these fantastic photos of the engagement are from Aaron Okayama.
I really can't wait to share with you photos of the wedding after it happens July 17. Stay tuned...

Featured: Woman's World

As many of you may remember, Lina of A Stunning Affair and I designed a Twilight Wedding Tablescape. An editor from Woman's World Magazine approached us about being "experts" on a piece they were doing on how to throw a Twilight Party. This is my first national magazine publication opportunity so I jumped at the chance. The did use one of our photos, which you may recognize, with the framed photos from the original movie, taken by the ever so talented, Meg Perotti. You can find the article on newstands now, or just see for yourself if you enlarge the image above by clicking on it. Enjoy!!

Fabulous Find: Brooch Bouquets

I absolutely, positively have fallen in love with these bouquets.
They're definitely not for every bride, but for the right one, it's a WOW.
It's a great way to incorporate "something old, something new, something borrowed & something blue"
You could keep the bouquet as is, or give the brooches as gifts after the wedding.
You could always use them to accessories as well: shoes, dresses, hair, jewelry...the list goes on & on.
They're even the perfect size for a truly unique boutonnière.
These bouquets can be found at Fantasy Florals and start at a $150 price tag depending on the size & vintageness of the brooches.
